    Ester Grossi for Ethos

Ester Grossi is among the contemporary artists who have embraced the themes of Ethos. “My artistic practice has always been characterized by an interest in popular culture, folklore, and mass communication. The focus of my painting, in particular, is to codify and explore contemporary society—overflowing with symbols and information—and, through a stylistic exploration of the essential, to draw attention to the iconic power of images.”

  • Ethos YOUNG

The project, conceived by a group of Luiss students, aims to implement concrete initiatives to promote the value of sustainability across the University. Its goal is to help keep Luiss among the world’s top 30 most sustainable universities, according to the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, having contributed to achieving this position in previous years.

The group is involved in a wide range of activities and initiatives focused primarily on sustainability and inclusion. During the COVID-19 lockdown, the students also developed online initiatives to engage the student community and the wider public.

The group is currently evaluating the most appropriate formal structure for its activities, including becoming part of Ethos, establishing an independent association, or creating a student association. It has also been allocated a dedicated space at the Luiss campus on Viale Romania.

    Activities and projects include:

    • Artistic and cultural initiative on youth issues (October 2021): an evening event at MAXXI in Rome featuring artistic performances and music, with Prof. Riccio providing consultancy on performing arts.
    • Luiss Christmas Market (December 2019): participation in a charity initiative involving the collection of clothing for donation.

  • Ethos – Museo Madre

The first phase of the Art-Etica project (2019–2021) focused on developing a three-year programme on multiculturalism within contemporary artistic experimentation. The project began by examining the gradual shift, over recent decades, of the global centre of artistic research from the heart of the Western world towards regions historically regarded as peripheral, from Africa to the Far East.
