Ethos

  • “Verso”

Established in 2020, the group brings together university professors from different academic disciplines, focusing on the analysis of the impact of new technologies and AI on contemporary society.

Digital technological innovation and the automated processes it enables, including AI and Machine Learning, have the potential to profoundly transform the way business decisions are shaped and implemented. In particular, organizational culture and corporate ethics are being significantly challenged by processes that could alter or disrupt them according to unintended or undesired criteria.

Verso is a Think Tank and support institute. It develops a theoretical vision and understanding of innovative transformation processes and supports organizations through appropriate training tools, helping them innovate in accordance with the principles of their corporate culture and ethics.

Verso supports organizations in ensuring that the outcomes of innovation do not diverge from their original intentions, thereby preventing unintended transformations.

The group’s work involves Prof. Maffettone, Prof. Benanti, and Dr. Giovanni Lo Storto, together with:

Prof. Maurizio Bellacosa, Luiss; Prof. Marta Bertolaso, Campus Bio-Medico University; Prof. Patrizio Bianchi, University of Ferrara; Prof. Mirko Garasic, Ethos; Prof. Giuseppe Italiano, Luiss; Dr. Maria Laudiero, Ethos; Prof. Francesca Marzo, Luiss; Prof. Domenico Melidoro, Ethos; Prof. Mario Rasetti, President of the ISI Foundation; Prof. Gianluca Riccio, Ethos; Prof. Bruno Siciliano, University of Naples Federico II; Prof. Paolo Spagnoletti, Luiss; Prof. Guglielmo Tamburrini, University of Naples Federico II; Prof. Giorgio Ventre, University of Naples Federico II; Lorenzo Ancona, Young Ethos.

Establishment of partnerships and development of interdisciplinary research projects in the field of Health Equity.

  • Project “Ascolta – Azioni Sinergiche di COntrasto alla Ludopatia Tecnologica in pre-Adolescenza”

The project aims to develop experimental and innovative approaches to promote healthy and responsible lifestyles and combat the spread of problematic video game use and gaming disorder, which can emerge particularly during pre-adolescence and display characteristics comparable to an addiction. This concern was formally recognized by the World Health Organization in 2018, when gaming disorder was included among officially recognized mental health conditions.

The objective will be pursued through a combination of scientific research and international and national study, alongside ongoing collaboration with key stakeholders in the community, particularly schools and families. By bringing these two strands together, the project aims to design and implement concrete prevention and intervention initiatives, while also developing guidelines to prevent and address gaming disorder.

  • Ethos – Naples

Meeting with leading figures from the business, academic, and cultural sectors to initiate tailored collaborative activities with key institutions and organizations in the Naples area.

  • ETHOS, in collaboration with the Giordano Bruno Foundation of Nola, Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, ASL Salerno, and Devital Group.

In September 2020, Ethos, in partnership with ASL Salerno, and with the support of Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma and the Giordano Bruno Foundation, took part in the Campania Region’s Start Up 2020 call for proposals on digital innovation.

The project focused on the importance of home care, with particular attention to structured care protocols for patients with dementia, both to improve patients’ overall well-being and to address the healthcare challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The initiative aimed to digitize the entire home-care system, encompassing not only the testing and implementation of technologies for innovative telemedicine, but also the integration of healthcare professionals’ activities with the needs of patients’ families.

This latter aspect represented a key challenge for the project, with the goal of developing a research and innovation pathway that would be efficient, effective, and acceptable to all stakeholders.
